Sites of general interest on GSM

We have not listed here commercial-related sites, but only technical data sites. The list is voluntarily very reduced.
GSM MoU Association http://www.gsmworld.com/index.html
The GSM MoU Association includes all GSM (900, 1800, 1900) operators throughout the world.
Its site features first-source data on its members, such as network names, codes and coverage per country.
It also includes news and press releases about the GSM global development.
TU Berlin http://kbs.cs.tu-berlin.de/~jutta/gsm/gsm-list.html
A list of GSM networks and codes , all on one page produced by the Berlin Technical University.
http://kbs.cs.tu-berlin.de/~jutta/gsm/js-intro.html
An introduction to GSM , by John Scourias
A good overview of the GSM standard (mainly architecture and radio) - about 8 A4 pages.

Where to get telecommunications specifications

3GPP http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/
3rd Generation Partnership Project
All GSM specifications, including those of previous releases (phase 1, phase 2, phase 2+)
are available for a free download, as well as the UMTS specifications
and documents relevant to the work of 3GPP.
ETSI http://www.etsi.org
European Telecommunications Standards Institute
Basically all ETSI meeting documents are available on the ETSI server - for members only.
But everybody can have access to the publications catalogue and order published specifications.
ITU http://www.itu.int/publications/
International Telecommunications Union
Although not directly linked to GSM, many of the ITU specifications (formely CCITT recommendations)
are relevant for global mobile communications.

This is just a short list of "core" sites, among the plethora of sites having something to do with GSM.
